Flight Countdown Begins: Fares to be Finalized in 7 Days; First Flight Possible Within 30 Days

Noida International Airport has received security clearance from the BCAS, following which preparations to commence operations have intensified. Ticket fares are set to be finalized within the next seven days.

The long-awaited moment, anticipated by millions of travelers across Delhi-NCR, is now drawing to a close. Noida International Airport has taken a decisive step toward commencing operations. Rapid progress is being made at every level—from obtaining security clearance and engaging in discussions with airlines to the process of determining ticket fares and securing final legal approvals for land acquisition. These developments collectively underscore the fact that this greenfield airport in Jewar is now poised to become a reality, with commercial flights set to take off very soon.

Security Plan Approved
The security plan—considered the most critical component of Noida Airport’s operations—has received final approval from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). With this clearance, the most significant hurdle standing in the way of commercial operations has been removed. The airport management is now focusing its entire attention on operational readiness to ensure that flight services can commence without any disruptions.

Fares to be Finalized Within 7 Days
According to the management, ticket fares will be finalized within the next week following meetings with various airlines. The ticket booking process is expected to commence immediately thereafter. Sources suggest that the first commercial flight could take off approximately 30 days after bookings open, offering significant relief to passengers.

Preparations Complete at Airport Complex
All major preparations regarding infrastructure and passenger amenities within the airport premises are nearly complete. According to a spokesperson for Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, work is currently underway—in collaboration with airlines and other partners—to finalize the operational launch date. The objective is to ensure that all systems, processes, and staff are fully prepared, thereby guaranteeing safe and seamless services right from the outset.

Flights Expected to Launch with These Airlines
In the initial phase, major airlines such as IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express are expected to commence their services from this airport. This is anticipated to boost both domestic and international connectivity.

High Court Gives Green Signal for Land Acquisition
In a significant development concerning the airport’s expansion, the Allahabad High Court has ruled in favor of the project. Upholding the validity of the land acquisition process, the Court dismissed the petitions filed by farmers. The Court noted that consent had been obtained from 73.02 percent of the affected families—exceeding the 70 percent threshold required for the project—and affirmed that this was in full compliance with the applicable regulations. This verdict has now completely cleared the path for the airport’s expansion.
