Metro to Run from Botanical Garden to Sector-142 and Bodaki Tenders Issued for Two Projects Worth ₹2,254 Crore

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation has issued tenders for two projects, collectively worth ₹2,254.35 crore, for the expansion of the Aqua Line Metro.

On Wednesday, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) issued tenders worth ₹2,254.35 crore for two projects aimed at expanding the Aqua Line within the city: a link line connecting the Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki Railway Station (2.6 km) and another connecting Sector-142 to the Botanical Garden (11.56 km). A construction company for these projects is expected to be selected within 30 days.

Approximately 200,000 People to Benefit
It is anticipated that civil work on both projects will commence in August. The Aqua Line extension project up to Bodaki is scheduled to be completed within three years, while the construction of the link line Metro is expected to take four years. Upon the completion of these projects, approximately 200,000 people residing between the cities of Noida and Greater Noida will directly benefit.

Relief for Magenta Line Commuters
It is worth noting that the commencement of operations on the link line route connecting Sector-142 to Botanical Garden will bring significant relief to passengers utilizing the Blue Line—which runs from Dwarka in Delhi to Sector-62 in Noida—and the Magenta Line, which travels from Botanical Garden to Janakpuri. The Botanical Garden Metro Station is set to become the largest interchange station within the Noida-Greater Noida Metro network.

Total Track Length: 29.707 km
The creation of this new link will facilitate easier travel for passengers on the Magenta and Blue Lines in Noida and Greater Noida, enabling convenient access to Delhi’s IGI Airport, New Delhi Railway Station, and Anand Vihar Railway Station. Commuters will also benefit greatly when traveling to sectors along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, as well as to IT hubs, corporate offices, or Greater Noida itself. Currently, Noida and Greater Noida are interconnected via the Aqua Line Metro. This line extends from the Sector-51 Metro Station to the Greater Noida Depot. The entire track spans a distance of 29.707 km.

Eight Stations on the Link Line Metro Corridor

Along the route from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden, stations will be established at Sector-44, the Noida Administrative Building (located in Sector-96), Sector-97, Sector-105, Sector-108, Sector-93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College. The final station on this corridor will be Sector-142, which has already been completed.

Two Stations Up to Bodaki
Two metro stations—Junapat and Bodaki—will be constructed along the 2.6-kilometer line extending from the Greater Noida Depot to Bodaki.

“With the Aqua Link Line and this expansion project, the ridership on this route is projected to reach 200,000. Currently, the Aqua Metro records a daily ridership of approximately 80,000; consequently, a tender has been issued today to commence construction work on this project.”
