After a wait of two decades, Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) is finally ready. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate its first phase on March 28, 2026. Commercial flight operations are expected to begin a few weeks following the inauguration.

Although airlines have not yet announced an official schedule, media reports suggest that direct flights to approximately 10 major cities could commence within 45 days of the inauguration. Passengers are advised to wait for the official booking window to open.

Initial Connectivity Expected from These 10 Cities: The first phase will focus on high-demand metro cities. According to reports, direct flights are likely to commence for the following cities:

Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Goa, Jaipur

These routes will prove to be a new convenience for travelers in the NCR region, offering particular relief from the congestion at Delhi Airport.

Which Airlines Will Operate the Flights?
In the first phase, three major airlines are preparing to launch their services:

IndiGo (Expected to operate the highest number of flights as the launch airline)
Akasa Air
Air India Express
Through these airlines, both domestic and select international connectivity is expected to become available.

When Will Ticket Bookings Begin?
As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding ticket bookings. According to reports, the booking window is likely to open 2 to 4 weeks prior to the commencement of flights. Passengers are advised to keep checking the official website or app for updates.
