New Trade Hub to be Established Near Jewar Airport Spaces Available on Lease

Three sectors being developed near the Noida International Airport in Jewar are set to be developed as a commercial hub modeled after business centers in China. Under NIDA’s Master Plan, specific spaces have been designated for commercial activities within Industrial Sectors 7, 8, and 8A. The plan entails allocating these commercial centers—each spanning approximately 20 acres—on a lease basis. Notably, products manufactured under the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative will be easily accessible to the public at this location.

As part of the plan to establish an international trade and commercial hub, a specialized consultancy firm has submitted its action plan to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). A formal presentation of this plan is scheduled to take place in the coming days. Under this framework, a diverse range of products from across the country will be made available under a single roof. Consequently, people will no longer need to travel long distances to procure either their daily necessities or specialized products.

Electronic goods, textiles and apparel, furniture, and various other items will all be available at this facility. According to officials, the plan is to develop this commercial hub on the lines of the city of Yiwu in China. This proposal will be implemented following the scheduled presentation. Given its proximity to the Noida International Airport, this hub is also expected to offer a unique and distinct shopping experience for travelers arriving at the airport.

It has been noted that a policy of leasing out spaces—rather than making outright allocations to specific entities—would prove to be the most effective approach here. This is because the lease model allows for the flexibility to replace an existing product with a new one whenever necessary; whereas, under the terms of a standard outright allocation, the process of changing the designated product typically involves complex procedural hurdles.
