7.5 km Route from Sector-51 to Sector-4DPR Approval Expected Soon

The NMRC has submitted the final report to the Ministry of Urban Development regarding the 7.5-kilometer-long route extending from Sector-51 to Sector-4 under the Noida-Greater Noida West Metro project.

Preparations for the construction of a new metro line connecting Sector-51 in Noida to Sector-4 in Greater Noida .west have been completed as part of the metro network expansion initiative in Noida and Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has forwarded the final report for this project to the Ministry of Urban Development. This development has significantly heightened expectations for the approval of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this 7.5-kilometer-long metro line.

Route and Cost from Sector-51 to Greater Noida West
The total length of this new metro line will be 7.5 kilometers, and it will feature five metro stations. The estimated cost is ₹1,250 crore, which will be jointly borne by the Noida Authority and the Greater Noida Authority. In Phase-1, only these five stations will be constructed. A decision regarding future expansion will be taken following the completion of the ‘Namo Bharat’ project.

The stations proposed under Phase-1 are as follows: Sector-51, Sector-61, Sector-70, Sector-122, Sector-123, and Greater Noida Sector-4 (near Kisan Chowk). The construction of this route is expected to significantly improve the transportation infrastructure between Noida and Greater Noida, offering residents a faster and more convenient travel option.

Other Metro Expansion Projects
The NMRC is currently planning to issue tenders for three metro expansion projects simultaneously. These include the metro extension up to Bodaki, the extension from Botanical Garden to Sector-142, and the metro line connecting Sector-51 to Greater Noida West (Sector-4). The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the Bodaki and Botanical Garden projects have already been approved.

The DPR for the Greater Noida West project has been submitted to the Ministry. Five metro stations will be constructed during Phase 1. Further decisions regarding the project will be taken following the completion of the ‘Namo Bharat’ project. The actual cost of the project will be assessed after the meeting of the Public Investment Board.

This project will not only enhance connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida but also help make daily commuting easier and more time-efficient. The construction of the metro line extending from Sector-51 to Greater Noida West is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and facilitate easier access for local residents to other parts of the city.
